Assessment results
To ensure that the school is continuing to improve, the Leadership Team and Governors use assessment and tracking systems to compare attainment and progress for each child.
Summative assessment is captured and compared with other schools nationally at the end of:
The Early Years through the Foundation Stage Profile
Year 1 though the Phonics Screening
Key Stage 1 - Year 2, Reading, Writing and Mathematics
Key Stage 2 - Year 6, Reading, Writing, Spelling, Punctuation & Grammar and Mathematics
In the academic year of 2019-2020 the coronavirus spread across the world resulting in a global pandemic. This had an impact on daily life and disrupted face to face learning in schools. The schools closed from March 2019 to July 2019, then again in January 2020.
As a result of the disruption to face to face learning, the Department for Education (DFE) cancelled all end of year statutory assessments for 2020 and 2021. These include Early Foundation stage Profile, Year 1 Phonics Screening, Year 2 Reading writing and maths and Year 6 Reading, Writing and Maths. Therefore there is no published assessment data for these academic years.
We continue to assess children’s learning in lessons (formative assessment) and also at the end of a term (summative assessment).
